My son is allergic to wheat, soy, tree nuts, peanuts, dairy and a couple of other top 8. So I thought gumbo would be out of the picture in our family, and I make a good gumbo, so this was kind of depressing.
Low and behold I found this gluten free, nut free roux and took a shot and ordered.
It’s great. It acts just like flour based roux, same consistency and color, and taste is dead on. My wife bakes allergy friendly so I tried to make gluten free roux using the different flour alternatives and it’s hard, don’t waste your expensive alternatives, just order this stuff.
