Bayou Magic Cajun Gumbo, 8 oz
Be a magician in your kitchen with Bayou Magic's Gumbo mix. This gumbo mix eliminates the need to make a roux and chop vegetables while still retaining a nice home-cooked taste.
Empty contents into a large pot with 3 quarts of cold water. DISSOLVE THOROUGHLY.
Add 2 1⁄2 to 3 lbs. chicken (remove skin and excess fat), Add 2 BAYOU MAGIC BAY LEAVES, one lb. diced smoked sausage and a 14.5 oz. Can of okra (optional). Bring to a boil. Reduce to medium heat and simmer, about 1-1/2 hours, until meat is
tender. Debone meat (if desired). Serve over steamed rice with a sprinkle of chopped green onion tops and parsley. For
hotter and spicer flavor, use BAYOU MAGIC CAJUN SEASONING to taste.
*Cajun tip: For a great taste and presentation, add a teaspoon of file' in the bottom of the serving bowl, cover the file' with rice, and add Gumbo
follow the previous directions omitting sausage. Debone meat (chicken). Add sliced okra (may use fresh, frozen, or a 14.5 oz. can) and a 14.5 oz. Can of tomatoes. Add desired seafood and simmer for 15 minutes. Follow
the above serving instructions.
*Cajun tip: Gumbo with oysters, use a small jar of oysters, cut the eggplant into oyster size pieces, and drop in Gumbo.
